We get it, doing things differently comes with some questions (such as ‘How can it be so easy?’). We’re here to answer all the questions you might have – starting with the most frequently asked ones:

What is All Risks insurance cover?

All Risks insurance cover provides worldwide cover against loss of or damage to items insured. Note that certain cover exclusions apply and are listed in the policy wording document.

Which items are normally insured for All Risks?

The app’s product screen will reflect items that can be insured. All Risks items are portable and include items which can be carried on your person (E.g. electronic watches, electronic computer devices, and sporting equipment).

What is "on demand" cover?

Instant insurance cover which you can instantaneously switch on and off, it’s all under your control.

What options do I have when buying insurance cover?

You can select the duration of cover, be it per day, per week, or monthly.

When does cover start?

Immediately. The moment you successfully add an item, it will be covered. However, please note, if no payment is received, you will not be covered.

What if I accidentally added an item I don't want to insure?

Don’t panic. Simply select the item in question and delete it.

Why do you need information like the serial number, and make and model number?

This is very important. Not only is it a requirement for proper underwriting and the correct pricing for your premium, but it also helps us identify the correct item in the event of a claim.

What does "Geo-tag" mean?

A Geo-tag is an electronic tag that assigns a geographical location to a photograph received.

How do I register a claim?

A claim can be registered by accessing the app, selecting the item in question and clicking the “Claim” button to begin your claim notification process.

Do I need to submit a claim within a specific timeframe?

You need to register the claim via the app within 30 days of the time of the incident.

When do I need to report the incident to the authorities?

You need to report all incidents related to burglary, theft, hi-jacking, armed robbery and where items were stolen, to your local authority. You will need to provide us with a case number as part of the claims process.

What is an "excess" or first amount payable?

An excess or first amount payable, is the amount that are responsible for as a portion of the total claim payable. This is an amount agreed to as settlement. For example, if the claim value is R5000 and excess is R1000, we will pay R5000 less R1000, which will be R4000. Please note, should the loss fall within the value of the excess, there will be no claim.

My caravan and trailer depreciates in value, does my premium also reduce?

The cost of repairs and parts increase more than inflation, so unfortunately the premium does not reduce. Please note, we insure according to average market value, in other words a depreciated value, in line with market norms.

Are my personal details secure?

Everything is private and confidential, nothing will be shared or sold. We pride ourselves on treating our clients fairly, and keeping their information secure.

How do I update my personal details?

All personal details can be changed at any time, simply go to “My Profile” on the app.

What if I am unsure of something and need to get hold of an agent?

Via the app, you’ll be able to communicate with our agents through different channels. Call us on the provided landline number. Email us at hello@snapitcover.co.za or chat to us live via the app.
